Pastor Jason
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all of the incredible responses to the new site. We are very excited and look forward to unveiling new aspects of the site as soon as we are able. This blog tool will be morphing into my personal blog over the next 2 months. It will be a great tool for giving people an inside view to this great movement called First Baptist. We will have sermons, devotional tools, books I recommend, as well as other blogs and ministries that impact my life and ministry.
Please be patient and know that no one is more excited to get this up then us. You guys ROCK and are making FBC the kind of church that exists for all people to be loved into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Josh Hi, I recently began attending First Baptist Church with my wife and two young children, and we are very enthused about the experience. My wife and I weren't raised in religious families, but we've decided to change that for our children. We engage in discussions about God daily in our home, but I've decided that we need a better family Bible, perhaps something with brief narrative and possibly talking points. Jason, would you or any of your colleagues have recommendations?
Thank you!

Pastor Jason,
I want to thank you for helping me find God, helping me find my salvation. Just by you giving the Belong Membership class I got so many questions answered and was able to make a commitment to Christ Jesus. Thank you so much. I am now a Member of the church and look forward to being baptized the way there were in the bible.
Thanks again and God Bless,
Amber

this is to the 20 yr old Marine who posted right before my thanks to Pastor Jason. I am a 19 yr old Marine there are more of us who go to the church for the 9:45 service and some of us go to the 11:15 bible study. Just know that you are not alone and that there will always be somebody there to help you on your path to God. No matter how old, where they come from, gender, race, nothing. We are all children of God and I can tell you from personal experiance that everybody in the church is very friendly and very inviting. Everybody who attends the church is a family.

Gift Giving: Posted by
Victoria N So, I am a victim advocate at Camp Lejeune, I am a first responder for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I was on call the week that we began the Gift Revolution, and I decided that what I had that was really important to me was a jewelery set that I had taken the time to make with the prettiest crystal beads, it was my favorite set. So God told me to put the set in a bag, and I was going to give it to the next victim I worked with. I was white knuckling it, because it was best creation yet,.. Well, sure enouh early Monday morning I get paged to the Naval Hospital, there was a young female Marine, who was torn between upsetting her platoon that was ready to deploy and turning in a peer she worked with on a regular basis. She was thinking she should just suck it up and protect her fellow Marine, fighting back the tears....Well, she decided to press charges, and shift change came and I had to pass on the case to the daylight advocate, and well the bottom line was, the gift that I had, suddenly paled in comparison to the need in front of me,I did give it to her and told her that I had to go, but to please whenever she wore the set or even looked at it, to remember her worth. You can imagine the lessons I learned in that 24 hrs.

J.R. Jones I would like to start by saying thankyou to the church for a warm welcome for me and our family. We truely feel at home. I want to say thank you to all the staff for a wonderful presentation of the live nativity. This I know took a great deal of work. I also want to thank the youth for a job well done decorating the stage for the holiday season. The youth have gerat pressure to deal with and we love to see them spend time in God's house. The youth staff is doing a great job with them, and Mark Jones is doing a fantastic job with the R.A's. I am also the son of a disabled veteran who served for 22 years in the Marines. I saw how important is is to have father figures in place when my dad was gone to war on deployement. I hope this upcoming year that all dads can step up and be a example for the young children when there loved ones are deployed. I encourage this because there is know better example that can be shown to a child than that of a christian. Please pray for the military in harms way, and pray fro the families left behind. I want to thank you Jason for you leadership and opening my eyes that we all can be God's servants an we dont need to be praised for everything.

Colleen I wanted to report on my experience with the gift revolution but I gave out all my cards and wasn't sure where to go to post it. So you're getting it here! :-) The company I work fro recently hired a single mother who relocated from PA to take the job. She is really sweet and and would never ask anyone for anything. My husband and I had decided to purchase a new washer and dryer and were trying to decide if we should let Lowes take the old ones away or keep them for one of our college age daughters. When it came up in conversation at work the new girl asked if she could buy them from us. I mentioned this to my husband and we agreed we should give them to her. So I took a gift reveolution card and handed it to the girl and said this is a gift revolution card it is meant to be given freely and and then passed on to someone else in a gesture either large or small. With this card we want to give you the washer and dryer. She couldn't believe it and cried and was so grateful. It felt really good to help her this way and I know we were more blessed than she. We decided to do one more thing...the week before Christmas we took $100 and three Christmas cards along with a gift revolution card and put $20, $20 and $60 in the envelopes. As we went about our shopping we looked for families that we thought could use the money more than us. (of course we weren't judging people, yikes) While in Target we spotted a family of 6 in line with a cart full of Nurf toys and rather sad looks on their faces. I introduced myself to the mom handed her the card and said I have something I'd like to give you, I just ask that you read the card inside. (The Christmas card was signed, Your Friends at First Baptist Church.) We gave them the card with the $60.00. We walked away and tried to sneak a peek at their reactions but couldn't see from where we stopped. We pretty much repeated the same thing with the other two cards containing $20 each and even though we never got to see the reactions we felt blessed to be able to do this for complete strangers. Now that Christmas is over we are applying for a loan so we can pay our bills...Ha ha, just kidding! God has blessed us!
